Two-Dimensional Optical Spectroscopy of Multi-chromophore Protein Complexes

چکیده
Two-dimensional Fourier transform electronic spectra were recorded for the LH3 light harvesting complex. The spectra reveal the weak coupling between B800 molecules, the ultrafast dynamics within B820 and energy flow from B800 to B850.

متن کاملChirality-based signatures of local protein environments in two-dimensional optical spectroscopy of two species photosynthetic complexes of green sulfur bacteria: simulation study.
Two-dimensional electronic chirality-induced signals of excitons in the photosynthetic Fenna-Matthews-Olson complex from two species of green sulfur bacteria (Chlorobium tepidum and Prosthecochloris aestuarii) are compared. The spectra are predicted to provide sensitive probes of local protein environment of the constituent bacteriochlorophyll a chromophores and reflect electronic structure var...
متن کاملCorrelated driving and dissipation in two-dimensional spectroscopy.
The correlation between coherent driving and non-Markovian dissipation plays a vital role in optical processes. To exhibit its effect on the simulation of optical spectroscopy, we explore the correlated driving-dissipation equation (CODDE) [R. X. Xu and Y. J. Yan, J. Chem. Phys. 116, 9196 (2002)], which modifies the conventional Redfield theory with the inclusion of correlated driving-dissipati...
متن کاملDynamics of protein and chromophore structural changes in the photocycle of photoactive yellow protein monitored by time-resolved optical rotatory dispersion.
The dynamics of the PYP photocycle have been studied using time-resolved optical rotatory dispersion (TRORD) spectroscopy in the visible and far-UV spectral regions to probe the changes in the chromophore configuration and the protein secondary structure, respectively. The changes in the secondary structure in PYP upon photoisomerization of the chromophore can be described by two exponential li...
متن کاملExcited state structural events of a dual-emission fluorescent protein biosensor for Ca²⁺ imaging studied by femtosecond stimulated Raman spectroscopy.
Fluorescent proteins (FPs) are luminescent biomolecules that emit characteristic hues upon irradiation. A group of calmodulin (CaM)-green FP (GFP) chimeras have been previously engineered to enable the optical detection of calcium ions (Ca(2+)). We investigate one of these genetically encoded Ca(2+) biosensors for optical imaging (GECOs), GEM-GECO1, which fluoresces green without Ca(2+) but blu...
